Managing much less output than hoped for on here. With courses and teaching starting up again that probably won’t change. With the return of class comes the return of my two and a half hour (each way) rail commutes. And what better way to celebrate both of these issues than by posting old material! It’s a rather fast and loose essay from last year on rail travel, spatial perception, technological determinism and… well I’ve probably already lost you.
Suspect that any free writing I do manage to squeeze in on this site will most likely be written on the train, so feel free to read it simply as a backdrop depiction of the physical and mental space my writer’s head may be in for the next few months.
